The NLC in Osun joined their colleagues across Nigeria to protest the move by the National Assembly.
The workers led by the chairman of NLC in Osun, Jacob Adekomi converged at the Ogo-Oluwa area and marched to the Osun Assembly.
DAILY POST had reported that members of the unions residing in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Ogun, Lagos states earlier stormed the National Assembly Complex demanding reversal of the legislative action.
Speaker of Osun House of Assembly, Timothy Owoeye said, “Anything that concerns the workers is Governor Gboyega Oyetola priority. Despite the paucity of fund, he has been able to implement the minimum wage. There are some things we have denied ourselves just for the sake of the minimum wage. We have assured you that without you, the development of the state will not be possible.

Osun State House Of Assembly on Wednesday empowered the state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola to appoint a Caretaker Management Committee to run the affairs of councils for a period not exceeding six months whenever a Local Government Council, Local Council Development Areas or Area Council is dissolved in the state.
The state House Of Assembly at its plenary meeting on the floor of the House, however, passed the Osun State Local Government Administration Amendment NO. 7 bill 2021 into law on empowerment.
A private member bill sponsored by the Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly of the Assembly, RT. Hon. Timothy Owoeye for a law to amend the Local Government Administration No. 6 law of 2016 and other connected purposes now empowers the Governor of Osun to fill vacant positions in the Local Governments.
