The Osun State Fire Service has said it suspected arson as fire razed Osogbo Artists Village, located near the popular Osun-Osogbo groove.
The agency’s Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ibrahim, in an interview with
City Round said the firemen were contacted early on Friday, adding that immediately a distress call was received, firefighters were drafted to the scene.
Ibrahim said from the available information, the fire started late Thursday evening.
He said, “It was a burnt house with remnants of smoke that we met on arrival when we were called 12:09am today (Friday). The house was said to have no electricity, so there was a high probability of arson, but not yet proven as investigation is ongoing to uncover the misery behind the fire.”
