The door to the Fijiana XVs remains open with head coach Senirusi Seruvakula on the lookout to select the best available players who will make history when they participate in the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2021 for the first time.
World Rugby has released the dates for the rescheduled event which will be held in Whangarei and Auckland, New Zealand from October 8 to November 12 next year.
The Fiji Rugby Union announced a training squad last November following the Fijiana XV’s qualification for the RWC 2021 after winning Oceania Rugby Women’s Championship at Churchill Park in Lautoka in 2019.

World Rugby made it official Tuesday, ratifying a recommendation to postpone the 2021 women s Rugby World Cup in New Zealand until next year,
The recommendation was made by World Rugby s executive committee.
The governing body also approved a two-million-pound ($3.5 million) funding package to provide teams with international competition to give them the greatest opportunity to be at their best in New Zealand next year.

The Canadian women will open the 2021 Rugby World Cup on Sept. 17 in Whangarei, New Zealand, against an Asian qualifier before taking on the U.S. and a European qualifier.
World Rugby unveiled the tournament schedule on Thursday. The draw, grouping the 12 competing teams, was made in November.
The ninth edition of the World Cup is scheduled for Sept. 17 to Oct. 16, 2021, across three match venues in New Zealand.
World Rugby set up the internship program as part of its ambitious plan to increase the number of female coaches, and wants at least 40 per cent of all coaches at Rugby World Cup 2025 to be women. New Zealand Rugby Head of Women’s Rugby Cate Sexton said: “Whitney has been a great contributor to rugby in New Zealand over a long period of time and she is an excellent recipient of this coaching internship. “Rugby World Cup 2021 is going to be game changer for women’s rugby in our country and programmes such as this will ensure the legacy continues long after the tournament.”
