Two employees were working in the busy convenience store, one behind the counter where sandwiches are made.
The sandwich-making worker said they normally have several employees there, but lately, they can’t find people to work.
The employee hustled over to the coffee station, telling the groggy, caffeine-deprived people holding empty coffee cups that she d been so busy all night she hadn t had time to brew a pot.
The worker shortage is happening all over town and across the country.
Businesses are reporting labor shortages particularly in the service industry at the same time that pandemic restrictions are easing, the weather is warming up and more people are shopping and eating out.
