OKC s downtown film studio launches production

A $160,000 CARES Act grant is helping launch a non-profit job training program to meet an increasing demand for workers needed to produce films in Oklahoma. The training, which includes a full film production, started Tuesday and marked the first use of sound stages at Prairie Surf Studio (formerly the Cox Convention Center). The film, “Running Behind,” is adapted from a script written by student Peyton Benge and the production itself was put on a fast track because of the requirement that the money be spent by Friday. This week was the inaugural class for the Film Education Institute of Oklahoma, which itself was formed just a few months ago. The class consisted of 37 instructors from an array of industry

Chickasha student, Dreamer receives Award of Excellence from Congress of Future Medical Leaders

Jessica Lane Dec 15, 2020 Raymundo Cruz, a Chickasha High School Junior was nominated as a Delegate for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders program earlier this year. Cruz also received an Award of Excellence for Outstanding Academic Performance, Leadership Potential, and Dedication to Serving Humanity through the Profession of Medicine from the Medical Advisory Board of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.  Photo provided A local student and Dreamer youth is channeling his desire to help others into a future career.  Raymundo Cruz, a Chickasha High School junior, was nominated as a Delegate for the Congress of Future Medical Leaders program earlier this year.
