Former US Attorney Going Into Private Practice After Stepping Down

Credit Courtesy Former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Oklahoma Trent Shores has a new gig lined up. After 18 years with the Department of Justice, Shores will go into private practice. He’s joining law firm GableGotwals as a shareholder March 29. In a news release, the firm noted Shores experience in Indian law. GableGotwals already has a former U.S. attorney and two former assistant U.S. attorneys on staff. Meanwhile, a Shores deputy is taking over as acting U.S. Attorney for the northern district of Oklahoma. Clint Johnson supervised the criminal, civil and administrative divisions as first assistant U.S. attorney.

Her family has been following various leads, including draining a pond near her home, but is no closer to discovering what happened to Dameron, who was 25 when she disappeared, her aunt, Pam Smith, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. Now, as two Oklahoma attorneys partner with the Cherokee Nation and the Muscogee (Creek) Nation on a new pilot project to raise awareness, resources and protocols for cases of missing and murdered indigenous people, Smith finally feels some hope.

Muskogee Man Arrested In Connection With Capitol Siege

U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma A Muskogee man is in custody at the Muskogee County Jail in connection with a federal warrant issued for his alleged role in the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Jail officials confirmed Saturday morning that Andrew Ericson, 23, was being held after being arrested Friday by federal law enforcement. Ericson is charged with unlawful entry on restricted buildings or grounds and violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. The warrant was issued on Jan. 20 by U.S. Magistrate Judge Zia M. Faruqui of the District Court for the District of Columbia.
