The commission formed to observe the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre has booted Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt from his seat on the panel.
The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre Centennial Commission move comes after project manager Phil Armstrong criticized the Republican governor for signing a bill into law outlawing the teaching of certain race and racism concepts in Oklahoma schools.
Stitt spokeswoman Carly Atchison said the governor learned of his ouster from a commission news release Friday. The statement from the commission did not indicate the reason for the parting, and a spokeswoman said the commission had no further comment.

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt Grills Burgers Under PETA Billboard Calling Him Meathead

Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt was seen grilling burgers on Wednesday under a billboard posted by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that referred to him as a meathead.
In a tweet posted on Wednesday, Stitt shared two photos of the billboards which read, Oklahoma, home of the meathead Gov. Kevin Stitt.

PETA fired the first shot after Stitt declared March 22-26 as meat week to promote the state s agriculture and livestock industry. It was no surprise that PETA was not a fan of meat week since the organization promotes veganism.
“The governor may wish to flatter the meat industry, but what it sells is inhumane, unhealthy, and an environmental nightmare,” the organization said in a statement after putting up a billboard calling the governor a meathead near Southeast 15th Street.
On Wednesday, May 12, Stitt finally responded to PETA in a tweet that said Looks like a great spot to grill some burgers. along with a photo of the billboard.
