OGDENSBURG â United Helpers rehabilitation and senior care center at 8101 Route 68 will close once its 106 residents have been transitioned to other facilities, which is expected to be by early September, according to a news release.
United Helpers employees and residents were told by management Tuesday of the closure of the senior care center, formerly called RiverLedge Nursing Home.
âAn announcement of the plan to cease operations as a skilled nursing facility has been made to the residents and resident representatives, and work will begin immediately to assist residents with making arrangements for safe transfer to care providers of their choosing,â the news release states.

The Canton and Ogdensburg Rehabilitation and Senior Care facilities have been dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks since November, logging a total of more than 360 cases between the two sites.
The neighboring Assisted Living Program in Canton has also logged five cases, all having recovered. Recoveries are now at 124 and 93 at the Canton and Ogdensburg homes, respectively. Canton recoveries have increased by 29 since Tuesday.
The outbreaks began the weekend of Nov. 21 at the Ogdensburg home, 8108 Route 68, and Nov. 29 at the Canton home, 205 Canton-Madrid Road.

United Helpers reports several new COVID-19 infections at their Canton and Ogdensburg Rehabilitation and Senior Care facilities.
In Canton, there are three new cases among staff and two among residents. One resident is hospitalized.
UH says there is one new case among staff in Ogdensburg. One resident there is hospitalized.
There have been no deaths at either facility since their last report.
The Canton Assisted Living facility has no new cases, no hospitalizations and no deaths.
