WORCESTER’S pubs are getting ready to battle through the last of restrictions when punters can finally take a seat inside from Monday. Prime minister Boris Johnson announced this week that Covid rules would be relaxed as planned from May 17, allowing indoor hospitality to resume. Rules stating a maximum of six people from no more than two households can mix and over table service and face coverings remain in place but boozers are bullish about the future. Marston’s has confirmed that all of its pubs across Worcester will be able to reopen for both indoor and outdoor service. They include
PUBS in Worcester faced a rather grim Bank Holiday Monday with rain threatening to wash out trade. A number of the city s pubs were forced to close or only offer a limited service as the strong winds and heavy rain meant outdoor dining was unlikely to take off. Craig Finn, owner of Belgian beer cafe TripelB Belgian Beer Cafe in Copenhagen Street, wasn t able to open up his business on Bank Holiday Monday due to the weather, and he also had to close yesterday afternoon after the rain started to pour once again. On Tuesday afternoon, he said: We didn’t just lose a days’ worth of trade, but a bank holiday and obviously that’s quite a bumper day ordinarily.
