Accused Rochester shooters make initial court appearances

ROCHESTER, Minn. – The accused shooters in a Rochester homicide made their initial court appearances Tuesday.
Nautica Deishaun Cox, 22 of Minneapolis, and Derrick Timothy Days, 28 of South St. Paul, appeared in Olmsted County District Court Tuesday afternoon and had their omnibus hearings scheduled. Those hearings are typically where pleas are entered to criminal charges. Cox had a hearing set for August 24 and Days’ hearing was set for July 20.

A 21-year-old year Rochester man was stabbed in the buttocks and another man was arrested late Monday night after police said there was a large fight at a Northwest Rochester apartment complex.
Rochester police were called about 11:35 p.m. to The Gates of Rochester apartment complex, 2015 41st St NW, for a report of about 20 men fighting. A caller reported that someone may have been stabbed and that someone was heard saying they were going to get a gun, Capt. Casey Moilanen said. Callers also reported that vehicles were ramming each other in the parking lot and that two vehicles a gray vehicle and a black vehicle were trying to leave the area.

A Rochester man was ordered held Tuesday on $50,000 conditional bail for his alleged involvement in a shots fired incident near a gas station Sunday afternoon.
Dandrea Johnson, 19, made his first appearance in Olmsted County District Court Tuesday morning on felony charges of dangerous weapons-intentional discharge of a firearm the endangers safety and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Judge Kathy Wallace set conditional bail at $50,000 and unconditional bail at $200,000. Johnson s next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 29.
