Several school districts are canceling classes today, due to winter weather. Some students will be learning remotely. A blizzard warning is posted for 25 counties in northern and central Iowa from 9 AM Thursday through 6 AM Friday. Cities in the warned area include: Waterloo-Cedar Falls, Waverly, Marshalltown, Ames, Fort Dodge and Mason City. The storm system is expected produce produce freezing rain and around four inches of snow. As the rain changes to snow, 40+ MPH wind gusts will create widespread blowing snow and hazardous travel conditions.
