The mother of a missing teenager fears she has fled with her boyfriend and is trying to throw her off the scent by leaving a note insisting they have split up.
Olivia Smith, 14, disappeared on Tuesday with a handwritten letter left behind claiming she was heading from Harwich, Essex to Halifax in West Yorkshire.
The letter told her mother she had broken up with her boyfriend like she wanted , but Samantha Smith suspects her daughter has actually fled with Conrad Marlborough, 15.
The teenager has been dating Conrad for three months but Ms Smith, 41, said both she and the girl s father had urged her to end the relationship.

The City of St. Augustine and St. Johns County Utilities will hold a free recycling event from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 6 at two locations: 25 W. Castillo Drive (Francis Field downtown) and at 840 W. 16th St. on Anastasia Island.
Old electronics, including cellphones, VCRs, DVD players, game systems and tablets, will be among the recyclable items. Other electronic devices, including computers and printers, will also be accepted.
Throughout the year, the City of St. Augustine accepts all recyclable materials daily during regular business hours at the Solid Waste Facility and at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, at 601/501 Riberia St. (respectively). St. Johns County Anastasia Island Wastewater Treatment Facility accepts only used cooking oil year-round at 860 West 16th St.

CONWAY, S.C. – Guards Tyra Brown and Alana Denson each scored in double figures and Tiara Davis made a pair of free throws in the final seconds as Coastal Carolina escaped with a come-from-behind 66-60 victory over UNC Pembroke Friday night at the HTC Center. Coastal, which also defeated UNC Pembroke 67-59 on Thursday, improved to 3-1 on the season. UNC Pembroke slipped to 1-3.
Brown scored a team-high 14 points, while Denson hit for 11 points. Junior forward Aja Blount added 12 points and Davis finished with nine points, all in the second half. The Braves were led by sophomore forward Gabby Smith’s 15 points.
