WASHINGTON, DC (WSAU) There will be no Never Forgotten Honor Flights for the first six months of 2021.
The National Honor Flight organization announced its decision to postpone all flights to Washington on Thursday, citing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the status of vaccine rollout as the main factors.
Additionally, the National Parks Service is not issuing large gathering permits at this time.
The Never Forgotten Honor Flight takes Veterans from the Central Wisconsin Airport in Mosinee to Washington, DC to see the memorials created in their honor. For many, it’s the first time they have gotten to see those memorials. The trips have also provided the Veterans an opportunity to bond and share experiences with those who have also experienced combat.
