ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) United States Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is joining a new push to make sure the current rate for the federal child tax credit for families remains in place.
Normally, parents receive $2,000 for every child under the age of 17, however, the new COVID stimulus package bumps that credit to $3,000 for children between the ages of seven and 17. The rate jumps to $3,600 for kids six and under.
Schumer pledged to pass the proposal.
