FG, IFAD train 100 communities on food system In Ondo

International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in conjunction with the Federal Government has reiterated the need to leverage food system to end poverty and achieve the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) by 2030. The National Agrobusiness Promotion Coordinator of Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises, Niger Delta (LIFE-ND), Mrs. Anthonia Ezenwa, disclosed this at the Rural Community Stakeholders Food Systems Dialogue in Ondo State. She noted that food systems become important because it is the bane of significant challenges faced by the people in respect of diet-driven ill health, environmental damages, poverty and unemployment. x LIFE-ND, which was mainly sponsored by IFAD in Ondo State, organised the meeting for 40 participants in one of the 100 communities chosen for the programme in Bolorunduro Community, Akure North Local Council Area.

Views: Visits 28 Unknown gunmen, suspected to be armed robbers, on Thursday evening, attacked a bullion van at Elemosho along the Akure-Ondo expressway in Ondo East local government area, carting away with an undisclosed sum of money. An eyewitness who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said the robbers waylaid and attacked the bullion van belonging to a commercial bank as it headed towards Akure at about 5:00 p.m. A witness said the armed robbery, which lasted for about 20 minutes, recorded three casualties, adding that villagers abandoned their homes and ran into the bush for safety as sporadic gunshots rented the air.

Views: Visits 13 Cart away unspecified amount of money By Dayo Johnson – Akure Two persons were feared killed while one was injured as bank robbers attacked a bullion van at Bolorunduro area in Ondo East council area of Ondo state. An unspecified amount of money were reportedly carted away by the robbers numbering over eight. The robbery attack occurred at about 5:30pm. Eyewitness account said that the robbers who came in two vehicles including a Lexus car ambushed the bullion van at Elemoso village along Akure/ Ondo highway. It was gathered that the bullion van left Ondo town and was heading for Akure, the state capital when it was attacked by the robbers.
