Local Athletes Take Titles at State Track
Local track and field athletes were back in competition as the OHSAA State Tournament continued across Ohio.
It was a big day in the Division II State Tournament for Heath’s Huntyr Butler. He took first place in the 110 Hurdles with a time 14.63.
In the girls 400 dash it was Licking Valley’s Reagan Carpenter who took first place. She finished with a time of 56.62.
Over in Division III it was Crooksville’s Greta Barker who came away big. She took home second place in the Girls 100 Dash. She finished with a time of 12.27. Barker also took part in the girls 200 dash where she came in fifth with a time of 26.00.

HENDERSON â Capt. Derrick Smith, commanding officer of the Salvation Army of Henderson, is being honored by Biscuitville for Black History Month celebration.
Biscuitville Fresh Southern is celebrating Black History Month by honoring Kizzmekia Corbett, Jamilla Pinder, and Derrick Smith. Smith said heâs âtruly honored.â âJust because [of] what black history means,â Smith added. âThere are people that have laid down their lives ⦠just to better our country for all people. And so, just to be a part of some of those names, Iâm honored.â
His honor comes with a fun opportunity.
During February, Biscuitville is giving away commemorative bookmarks featuring Derrick Smith to customers while supplies last, according to the release. The bookmarks contain a coupon for a free sausage biscuit from Biscuitville for customersâ next visit. Along with Derrick Smith, Corbett and Pinder shall be featured online via other digital media, according t
