The person arrested has been identified as Daniel Ontiveros-Lopez, 51, of Citra.
Two people, a man and woman from one of the vehicles, were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. The woman died. Troopers did not release her name, identifying her only by age (51) and hometown (Ocala.)
The man is age 67 and from Ocala. His name was not released, either. As of Friday evening, he was listed in critical condition.
Ontiveros-Lopez also was taken to ORMC. Once medically cleared, he was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was booked on two counts of driving without a valid driver s license that causes death or seriously bodily injuries.
