To break the ice, one day Parrinello told her she missed cleaning a spot. That remark got her attention as she dusted the living room.
The two became friends. As they got closer, Parrinello said, he learned more about his future wife. She was friendly, open, polite and very religious. Their friendship grew, and months later, he asked her to marry him.
Parrinello said she gave him a time limit: They had to be married in six months so they would know if this is what they wanted. Absolutely. I was sure it was what I wanted, Parrinello said.
They were married on Aug. 16, 2003. Between them, they have seven children from previous relationships.
