EMASOH: One Year Of Reassurance, De-Escalation And Dialogue The European-led Maritime Awareness mission in the Strait of Hormuz, EMASOH, has been operative for one year on the 25th of February 2021. ‘EMASOH and Operation AGENOR have been active for one year now, and, throughout this period, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz has been relatively stable. Beyond any doubt, EMASOH has a positive impact,’ says commodore Carsten Fjord-Larsen, Force Commander of EMASOHs military track, Operation AGENOR. EMASOH aims to ensure a safe navigation environment, to contribute to de-escalation and to facilitate an inclusive, regional dialogue in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The mission consists of both a military and a diplomatic track.
