Mason City musician joins Iowa Rock n Roll Music Association leadership Rockin Vance Jorgensen

ARNOLDS PARK, Iowa – A Mason City man is joining the Board of Directors of the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association.
“Rockin” Vance Jorgensen attends his first board meeting Wednesday and brings not only his experience as a professional musician since 1977 but as a practicing lawyer who has worked in real estate development and property management.
“We are so thrilled to have Lifetime Member “Rockin’” Vance become our newest board member,” says Association Executive Director Clay Norris. “Vance has so much energy and enthusiasm – he is one of the first members to approach me and introduce himself when I first took this job. He is friendly, generous, full of great ideas, and he is ready to hit the ground running.”
Cultural Organizations and Artists Receive Grants From Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs

Dickinson County, IA (KICD) A total of 267 cultural organizations and 152 artists serving 118 Iowa communities will be receiving $7 million in grants from the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs.One of those recipients in the KICD broadcast area is the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji which received $60,000. Executive Director Bob Kirschbaum says they are proud of the decisions they made to keep the art center running during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kirschbaum says one of those programs they enacted was grab and go bags full of art supplies to keep kids busy while things were closed up.

William “Bill” Alan Wolfe, 67, of Charles City, Iowa, died of complications due to the COVID-19 virus on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa with his two youngest daughters, Amy and Olivia, by his side.
Bill was the first born to Roger and Elaine (Doughten) Wolfe, on the base of Fort Benning, Georgia on September 22, 1953. The family moved often due to Roger’s military service in the Air Force. Bill graduated from high school at Farmington, Illinois. After graduation Bill worked for nearly four decades at Salsbury Laboratories and its later affiliates in Charles City, Iowa, until his retirement in 2012. He later went back to school and got a degree in graphic design at North Iowa Area Community College. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks Lodge No. 418.
