Northeast Iowa Conference: Wear a face covering – KCHA News

coloffmediaNovember 17, 2020Last Updated: November 17, 2020 This just in from the NEIC conference: Superintendents, activity directors, and student athletes in the Northeast Iowa Conference are uniting this winter with one clear message for their fans, “Wear a face covering.”  In a 7-0 vote, leadership with the Northeast Iowa Conference are requiring fans to wear a face covering at indoor sporting events. Face coverings need to be worn as fans enter the building and remain on while indoors. The NEIC will enforce this procedure during basketball, wrestling, and bowling season.  Details on face covering enforcement  – Applies to all fans of indoor contests in conference and non-conference match-ups – Applies for all high school and middle school contests 

WACO and Lone Tree Dance Teams Learn State Results

The Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association recently released the results from last month’s state competition at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.  Lone Tree competed in three routines and all of them were given division I ratings. In Class II Pom the Lions placed sixth out of 10 with 247 points out of a possible 300, sixth in Class I Jazz with 260 points, and seventh in Class I Lyrical with 242.5. Alyssa Knock also competed in a Class I Dance solo competition and garnered 273.5 points to place eighth. She received a division I rating for her efforts. WACO also had division I ratings for their two routines. In Class I Novelty they placed ninth out of 11 with 242.5 points and ninth in Class I Hip Hop with 240 points. 

Division I Ratings Awarded to Washington Dance Team

Results from the Iowa State Dance competition in Des Moines from November were finally released last week and Washington had plenty of division I ratings to go around.  An award ceremony took place virtually on Saturday for the November 17th Championship event. The Demons placed 10th in the Class IX Pom with a score of 248 points out of a possible 300 to be awarded a division I rating. The same rating was given for Class IV Jazz when Washington finished 10th with 250 points. Sophomore Abby Renoux also competed in the Class VI Dance solo division and received a division I rating for her efforts.
