Readers respond: Senior vaccines a matter of survival

I am writing to thank Aimee Green for her timely and informative article “Oregon 3rd to last in COVID vaccination rate for seniors, among 31 states with data” (Feb. 20). Many of us used to be proud to be an Oregonian. Now many of us wonder if we will survive being an Oregonian.

The third wave of Oregon seniors those who are 70 and older will get their first chance Monday to try to schedule coveted COVID-19 vaccination appointments. In the Portland area, 7,300 new appointments will open for booking at 9 a.m. Residents ages 70 to 74 years old will be competing for appointments with older seniors who became eligible in the first two waves over the past week or two. .
