Unknown gunmen have again killed about five soldiers in Omelema community, Abia Local Government Area of Rivers State.
It was gathered that the gunmen came from a nearby river, shot sporadically and went straight to a lodge where the soldiers were camped and opened fire, killing two on the spot at about 11am on Monday.
The latest attack is coming barely 48 hours after gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra attacked some security checks killing eight operatives.
The spokesman of the 6 Division, Nigeria Army Port Harcourt, Major Charles Ekeocha was yet to comment on the incident as he was not answering his calls at the time of filing this report.

Joe Moody is set for a lengthy stint on the sidelines, with the All Blacks and Crusaders prop set to undergo surgery.
Moody was taken from the field with plantar fasciitis in his left foot 26 minutes into the Crusaders win over the Hurricanes on April 11, in what was Moody s 100th game of Super Rugby.
While the extent of the injury was unclear following the game, Crusaders coach Scott Robertson has now confirmed Moody will be out for four to five months.

The police arrested five youth for allegedly murdering their friend in the beach near the Fishing Harbour.
On Wednesday, police received a message about a partially buried body on the beach. After registering a case of suspicious death, they began investigating.
The police identified the deceased as Appunu alias Selvakumar, 25, of Thazhankuppam. He and his friends had assaulted one Lokesh, of Ennore, a few days ago as the former refused to loan him a drilling machine. On the night of April 15, when Appunu and his friends were drinking on the beach, he reportedly told them that he was planning to surrender in connection with the assault.

Australia s Foreign Minister Marise Payne seems to have settled it. The warnings that New Zealand could be thrown out of the Five Eyes alliance over Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta s speech appear overblown. Of course Payne was always going to be diplomatic. Foreign ministers mostly speak in vague, coded language few of us understand. But they show displeasure when they need to, and there was none over our position on Five Eyes.
