Agents for the owners told the council that the ACV application will be challenged.
The council accepts the view thee pub may not have been profitable under the current ownership/ management.
However they also the agents that “it may be able to be so under other proprietors or there may be alternative community uses for that building, and this has not been investigated”.
The council view is that they have not been provided with “sufficient evidence / justification that it is not viable or feasible to retain this as a community facility use”. They have asked the agents to provided additional information.

This would be more than double the average number of pubs lost in recent years. With restrictions easing this week to allow pubs to open if they have suitable outdoor space - the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has been urging people to support their local pub. Here s a look back at some of the pubs in Bromley that have had to close their doors permanently in previous years:
A driver was left trapped after their van crashed into a ditch. Fire crews were called to the scene at the Five Bells, on the A13, last night (April 7) around 8.11pm. The team worked to help a driver whose van had left the roadway and ended up in a ditch. Together, both the fire service and paramedics helped release the casualty from the vehicle. Fire teams from Basildon and Rayleigh Weir both helped out at the scene. With their aid, the casualty was rescued by 8.50pm and left in the care of the ambulance service.
