(Linn County, IA) Linn County Public Health says the county is not quite ready to start vaccinating the next eligible group against COVID-19.
Heather Meador, Clinical Branch Supervisor at Linn County Public Health, says due to logistical and planning issues, County-run vaccine distribution points will not be able to distribute vaccines to newly eligible groups until March 15th. She says they ve vaccinated about 65-percent of those in the previous priority groups, and may people have yet to receive at least one dose.
Meador also says despite the upcoming expansion of those eligible for the vaccine, there are no plans for additional vaccines to be allocated to the County. The County also does not expect to receive any additional Johnson & Johnson vaccines until late March.
