On Monday 5 April, 2021, The Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe, his Deputy Minister Honourable Agnes Nkusankhoma-MP and some officials in the ministry spent almost 8 hours engaging the management teams from some parastatals and agencies that fall under the ministry.
Lowe said the meeting with the management team was aimed at getting an update on whether the bodies are on reforms currently being championed by the state Vice president of the republic of Malawi Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima under His Excellency the state president’s order.
The minister felt satisfied with how these management teams are working saying he is very confident that through his ministry Malawi is going to change to better.

Financially struggling AHL Group, formerly Auction Holdings Limited, has announced that it is retrenching some of its employees.
AHL workers face job loses
The company has failed to pay its employees for over four months due to financial hardships facing the group.
AHL Group, which owns and manages the country’s tobacco marketing floors and a commodity exchange among others, is owned 42 percent by the Malawi Government through Agricultural Development and Marketing Corporation (Admarc).
Admarc recently gave a AHL a K6 billion bailout.
A meeting to determine the decision by AHL group on whether or not it will retrench some of its employees is expected to be held today.
