Date Time Nearly 50 new cellar door experiences across SA South Australian tourists can enjoy more new and unique cellar door experiences with 47 projects across the state sharing in more than $200,000 in Marshall Liberal Government funding. Unique funded projects include interactive wine experiences in the Adelaide Hills, wine barrel tasting pods in McLaren Vale, grapevine charcoal drawing workshops in the Barossa and an audio-visual wine tasting experience in the Clare Valley. Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development David Basham said wineries thought outside the square to build their tourism and hospitality offering in accessing the ‘Unique Wine Experiences Fund Grant Program’.

Instead, the trim, gray-haired emergency physician decided to combine his love of mountain climbing with providing health care in places in crisis. The first passion has taken him to the top of four of the tallest mountains on an equal number of continents. Now he is trying for the prize summitting Mount Everest. He said he hopes those who support his climb will also support the International Medical Corps, which provides emergency care to patients in desperate situations.

Young guns of wine selected

FINALIST: Wangolina owner, winemaker and vigneron Anita Goode has been selected as a finalist in the Young Gun of Wine Awards. ? TWO Limestone Coast residents have been shortlisted as 50 finalists in the 2021 Young Gun of Wine Awards. 
Coonawarra’s Penley Estate winemaker Lauren Hensen and Wangolina owner and vigneron Anita Goode were selected after two days of intensive judging by a panel of leading industry figures from across the country. The Goode family have farmed the land of Wangolina Station since 1923 after arriving in Mount Benson in the late 19th century. 

 Vines were planted on the sprawling property in 1999, with cabernet sauvignon, shiraz and sauvignon blanc going into the ground and the first wines were made in 2001.

19 Wing Comox helps rescue injured hiker near Nanaimo SHARE ON: Photo provided by Maritime Forces Pacific / Forces maritimes du Pacifique, Facebook The 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron, based out of 19 Wing Comox took part in a major rescue over the weekend. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) in Victoria was asked to dispatch crews from the base Saturday night to help crews near Nanaimo in the medical recovery of an injured hiker on Mount Benson. A team from 19 Wing, which included a CC-115 Buffalo was sent to the site but were unable to lower their SAR Techs due to poor weather conditions.
