A woman was stabbed in the stomach by a mugger who demanded her bag and attacked her when she refused to hand it over.
The 48-year-old was walking along Bougainville Road at Lethbridge Park in Sydney s west about 9pm on Sunday when she was approached by the man.
The attacker demanded the woman hand over her bag then stabbed her in the abdomen before fleeing from the scene.

Police are searching for a man believed to be responsible for mugging and stabbing a woman near Mt Druitt in Sydney s west over the weekend.
About 9pm yesterday, the woman was walking along Bougainville Road near Copeland Road at Lethbridge Park, when she was approached by a man who demanded her bag.
During a short physical struggle the 48-year-old woman was stabbed in the stomach.

She sought help nearby and was driven to Mount Druitt Hospital before being transferred to Westmead Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
