SECONDARY students across the Grant District Council have been recognised and rewarded for their academic achievements and commitments with a $500 scholarship. St Martin’s Lutheran College student Leah McDonnell, Tenison Woods College student Sarah McKinnon, Mount Gambier High School student Josh Kain, Chelsea Ray and Gemma Ralph of Grant High School and Allendale East Area School’s Damon Verrier have received this year’s academic scholarship. Each year, council provides scholarships of $500 to students at high schools across the Grant district and in the neighbouring City of Mount Gambier to students who demonstrate school values, an exemplary attendance record and an intent to undertake tertiary education.
