TARRANT COUNTY, Texas With Easter weekend on the horizon, many families are preparing for their second in the pandemic. While hundreds of thousands are vaccinated and will be able to gather to celebrate, many still are not.

New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Worth is known for helping the community the church has held food giveaways during the pandemic but the recent snowstorm and freezing temperatures left the church in need of a hand.
“The water was coming through the ceilings and I went into crisis mode,” New Mount Rose Pastor Kyev Tatum said.

FORT WORTH, Texas The temperatures are rising and the sun is out, but the troubles are far from over at New Mount Rose Missionary Baptist Church, where burst pipes caused caved-in ceilings and flooded floors.
“It’s heart-wrenching,” Pastor Kyev Tatum said. “It shuts down our operations.”
Normally, on Fridays the church gives food out to those in need, but the damages put those plans on hold, said Tatum.
