RICHMOND, Ind. A student team from Earlham College has partnered with the Indianapolis-based Little Timmy Project to develop educational resources about the challenges of giving birth in Indiana, according to a release.
Indiana ranks 40th in the U.S. in infant mortality and 46th in maternal mortality, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The nonprofit Little Timmy Project raises awareness of these issues and seeks to improve outcomes for Hoosier mothers and infants.
The Earlham students are building a maternal health simulation to help people better understand the difficulties Indiana s new parents face, a project started in the fall of 2020 that concludes this spring.
