From the Pulpit: God’s love extends to everyone Donnley Dutcher Special to The Journal-Standard I have good memories of the thousands of nights (almost every night for multiple years for three children) of reading a book or books to our children when they went to bed. Each of them had their own favorite book, which they would request, almost every night. Maybe you have similar memories. We also sang songs to them. Well, one verse of several songs. One of these was “Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world … Black and white, they are precious in His sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.” But, it is not only the “little” children whom Jesus loves. Jesus/God loves every one of us, because we are all God’s children; every one of us. Everyone whatever one’s age, color, gender, ethnic heritage, national origin, or sexual orientation. God loves all, fully and equally, because God is love. (1 Jn 4:8)
