Central Pa. man admits attempting to rob pharmacist for drugs: state police

HUMMELS WHARF – A Liverpool man has confessed that he attempted to rob a CVS pharmacist in a Target store to obtain prescription drugs., state police say.
The pharmacist’s account of the incident contained in the affidavit is this:
A man approached the register and placed a plastic bag from the grocery store on the counter and said “methadone 5, methadone 10.” She claimed not to hear him and asked him to repeat himself, which he did.
She then informed him she did not understand and if he wanted to pick up a prescription she would need a name and date of birth.

State police are searching for two men who attempted to rob a pharmacist at Target this morning and fled in a gold Honda CRV.
 A Liverpool man is in jail on felony charges for robbing a pharmacy in the Target store in Monroe Township at noon Monday.
Eric S. Shingara, 36, was arrested at his home by state police at Selinsgrove and Newport hours after he entered the store with a knife and demanded prescription medicine. When the pharmacist told Shingara she did not have access to the medication, he left the store and was seen driving away in a gold-colored Honda CRV, according to a state police report.
Selinsgrove, Pa. â Police arrested a man wanted for an armed robbery earlier today at the Target store in Monroe Township, Snyder County.
Eric S. Shingara, 36, of Liverpool, Pa., was taken into custody this evening at his residence by troopers from Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove and Newport.
Police said Shingara entered the store at 501 Marketplace Boulevard and pulled a knife on the pharmacist after demanding a prescription medication. The pharmacist told Shingara he had no access to the medication he was requesting.
Shingara then fled the scene in a gold-colored Honda CRV. Though earlier reports stated another man was with Shingar, police said they later determined Shingara acted alone.

HUMMELS WHARF A Liverpool man has been accused of attempting to hold up a CVS pharmacist in a Snyder County Target store seeking prescription drugs.
Eric S. Shingara, 36, was arrested Monday evening at his home. He was arraigned on charges of attempted robbery and possession of an instrument of crime and jailed in lieu of $30,000 bail.
State police said that at about noon Monday, a man approached a pharmacist inside the Target store in Monroe Marketplace along Route 11/15 in Hummels Wharf, placed a plastic bag on the counter and demanded prescription drugs.
