Jason A. Dimacchia, of North Ridgeville, was charged with three felony counts of sexual battery, according to court records. Records show Dimacchia appeared Thursday in Elyria Municipal Court. He posted a $30,000 surety bond the same day and was released from Lorain County Jail, according to court and jail records.

He was arraigned Thursday in Elyria Municipal Court and was released on bond. North Ridgeville Police say they were notified of the incidents on May 3, but that the alleged rapes occurred in December of 2020. A student notified a teacher at the school, who notified school administration, who then called police.

Lake Ridge Academy in North Ridgeville attempted to break a Guinness World Record for the most cereal boxes toppled in a domino fashion Wednesday. Their goal? To knock down 4,567 cereal boxes during their record attempt. But their attempt failed when the boxes stopped falling. While they didn t break the record, it was still done for a good cause. Organizers say Lake Ridge Academy sourced more than 7,000 cereal boxes from students, parents and community collection partnerships with Mercy Health, the North Ridgeville Police Department and more than 20 corporate sponsors. Those cereal boxes will be donated to Second Harvest Food Bank, North Ridgeville Community Care and other local food banks, organizers said.

Several major school districts made the decision to cancel Tuesday’s classes by Monday evening, including Akron City Schools, Avon and Avon Lake schools, Canton City Schools, East Cleveland City Schools, Elyria City Schools, Eulclid City Schools, Mentor Exempted Village School District, and Shaker Heights Schools, to name just a few.
