South Lake Tahoe Police identify man killed in shooting

Submitted by paula on Thu, 04/08/2021 - 6:12pm SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) has identified one of the two men involved in Wednesday s shooting on Sierra Boulevard. Sacramento resident David Hunter, 24, died from his injuries after being airlifted to Reno. The second person involved is a South Lake Tahoe resident. His name has not been released as he is still in critical condition at Barton Hospital. Police investigators will be interviewing him once his condition improves. SLTPD Lt. Travis Cabral said there is no outstanding person from the incident and the only two people involved are the man hospitalized and the deceased.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A South Lake Tahoe man has pleaded guilty to the first degree premeditated murder of a former neighbor, Christopher William Kitchen. As part of the investigation, officers interviewed witnesses who saw the events leading up to the shooting. It was determined that Figaro walked out of his home and proceeded to get into an argument with a resident over a loud motorcycle. At some point, Kitchen joined the argument and pushed Figaro onto the ground. In response, Figaro pulled a handgun from his pocket and shot Kitchen twice. After the shooting, Mr. Figaro said, “he backtalked me and deserved it,” and then walked back to his home.

Officer involved shooting suspect moved from hospital to jail

Joseph Hill SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. The suspect in an officer involved shooting has been moved from the hospital to jail. Joseph Hill, 23, was shot by South Lake Tahoe Police Department officers after he opened fire on them at Three Peaks Resort on March 19. Hill turned his assault rifle on officers when they arrived on the scene. An unidentified officer returned fire, shooting Hill. He was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. On April 5, he was released from Barton and transported to SLTPD facilities, where he was charged with several felonies, including shooting at an inhabited dwelling and assault with a semi-automatic weapon at an armed police officer.
