SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) is working to expand Social Emotional and Mental Health instruction this year and in future years, including adopting curriculum and resources.
Sexual health and healthy relationships is an important piece of the California Department of Education Health Education Framework. This year, LTUSD is looking at the adoption of curriculum for South Tahoe Middle School and South Tahoe High School to be implemented during the 2021-2022 school year.
Two meetings were held during the 19-20 school year to review two Sexual Health Education Program curriculum choices. Due to COVID-19, the last meeting to review the last curriculum, Positive Prevention Plus, was delayed.

A funeral was held Friday for Brianna Murillo, a student at South Tahoe High School. A fundraiser has been set up to help the family to help with funeral expenses and support during this difficult time.
Brianna s mother is a classroom aide at South Tahoe Middle School. We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are with Brianna s family and friends. Services were held today and we know that people are looking for ways to support Bri s family at this time. Please see this opportunity to help with funeral expenses. SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation will be the beneficiary of Saturday s Derby Day party at Lake Tahoe AleWorx and The Cocktail Corner.
May 1 is the Kentucky Derby so grab those Derby Hats and enjoy Mint Juleps as the running of the 147th derby.
Live music is from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. from the One Way Street Band. The race starts at 3:57 p.m. but enjoy the day s festivities at AleWorx while supporting students in the Lake Tahoe Unified School District. One hundred percent of the profits from the event go to the Foundation.
