After the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Thursday that fully vaccinated people can go ahead and stop wearing masks and stop social distancing, both inside and outside, many are confused as to what the rules are both locally and in the state. The shift in guidance was an unexpected and dramatic reversal from the country s top public health agency and caught many by surprise and unprepared.
The CDC still calls for wearing masks in crowded indoor settings, such as buses, planes, hospitals, and prisons, and says residents should follow local rules. They don t run or oversee local public health departments and cannot overrule local or state health departments.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) is working to expand Social Emotional and Mental Health instruction this year and in future years, including adopting curriculum and resources.
Sexual health and healthy relationships is an important piece of the California Department of Education Health Education Framework. This year, LTUSD is looking at the adoption of curriculum for South Tahoe Middle School and South Tahoe High School to be implemented during the 2021-2022 school year.
Two meetings were held during the 19-20 school year to review two Sexual Health Education Program curriculum choices. Due to COVID-19, the last meeting to review the last curriculum, Positive Prevention Plus, was delayed.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. A new school project will not only help students get real world work experience, it will also make a small dent in South Lake Tahoe’s housing problem.
Starting next year, students at South Tahoe High School who are in the construction path of career technical education will begin building tiny houses.
“We came up with this idea of adding tiny houses in upper level classes to add more diversity to classes and have a CAPstone project which will tie everything they’ve learned together in one project,” said Lake Tahoe Unified School District’s Kim Carr.
