Johnson & Johnson COVID vaccine coming back to Lake, Sumpter counties

Here s what you need to know about getting the shot: Where can I get vaccinated? First and second dose vaccinations are being administered at Lake Square Mall in Leesburg. The last day to receive a first dose vaccination at this site is Tuesday. The DOH-Lake Community Health Site, 560 W. DeSoto Street in Clermont, and the DOH-Lake Umatilla Site, 249 E. Collins Street, are both offering first and second doses of the Pfizer vaccine. No appointment is necessary. The Global Medical Response site in Wildwood is located at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4930 County Road 134B.  What are the hours? And the Umatilla site is open from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday. 

COVID vaccines in Lake County nearing 246,000 doses

Of the 245,836 who have received a dose of the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Lake and Sumter counties since the state began its vaccination program in December, 162,812 were in Lake and 83,024 were in Sumter.   All told, 193,735 of those vaccinated, including 123,604 in Lake and 70,131 in Sumter, completed the two-shot series Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or the single dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson through Wednesday – the latest information contained in Thursday’s update. The majority – 117,550 in Lake County and 66,101 in Sumter – received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.   They are among more than 6 million people statewide – 6,073,726 – who have completed one of the three series of vaccinations. Nearly 9 million people in Florida – 8,740,620 – have received at least one dose of the vaccines.

Of the 244,703 who have received a dose of the Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Lake and Sumter counties since the state began its vaccination program in December, 161,596 were in Lake and 83,107 were in Sumter.   All told, 190,996 of those vaccinated, including 121,334 in Lake and 69,662 in Sumter, completed the two-shot series Pfizer and Moderna vaccines, or the single dose vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson through Tuesday – the latest information contained in Wednesday’s update. The majority – 115,346 in Lake County and 65,650 in Sumter – received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines.   They are among nearly 6 million people statewide – 5,985,537 – who have completed one of the three series of vaccinations. More than 8.6 million people in Florida – 8,684,024 – have received at least one dose of the vaccines.
