DULUTH, MN Garden enthusiasts gathered at Leif Erikson Park in Duluth Saturday for Rose Fest.
People got to enjoy rose arrangement demonstrations, a children s treasure hunt, and lessons on how to care for their rose garden.
The annual event was co-hosted by the Lake Superior Rose Society and the City of Duluth.
It was free to the public and featured local Duluth growers who shared how to water, fertilize, and best care for roses in the Northland. Our goal here is to teach people about roses and to help them appreciate this beautiful garden, but also to learn to grow roses themselves in a challenging climate like Duluth and all of Minnesota and any place that s north, Carol Borich, Lake Superior Rose Society Member, said.

DULUTH, Minn.– The nearly five acres of the Rose Garden in Leif Erikson park, which features thousands of flowers, is now in full bloom.
We caught up with the city’s maintenance team earlier today that’s working on maintaining the park’s beauty, who says it takes a lot of time and effort.
“I feel the public really appreciates the garden, I can’t tell you how many times people come by and say thank you for the beautiful park, and so it’s very rewarding to work here at the Rose Garden,” Wendy Wohlwend, a Park Maintenance Worker for the City of Duluth, said.

DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) Summer is officially in bloom, and that means flowers of all kinds are catching our attention.
There’s no better example of that than the rose garden at Leif Erickson Park in Duluth.
Lake Superior is known as the unsalted sea. Its beaches and its ports are a destination for entertainment and industry.
And just when you think you’ve seen this Great Lake from all angles, along comes something relatively new.

The Lake Superior Rose Society announced Monday the cancellation of its annual rose show and Rose Fest at the Duluth Rose Garden.
Both events, held in July, were canceled due to COVID-19 concerns. The rose show is typically held at Valentini s Vicino Lago on London Road.
Rose Fest is an educational event with Lake Superior Rose Society seminars on how to select, grow, water, fertilize, prune and winter protect a variety of roses.
