Question: My question is with the assumption of the projected salary cap. How many players do you think might potentially be salary cap casualties due to them underperforming? Do you think that this could potentially help us got get a game changer on defense with that potentially free cap space? I understand having the cap space could entice someone. But could we have enough money to make that type of move? Thanks again for your time!
The month flew by, huh?
Things should get interesting in March, when free agency begins, and the NFL Draft draws closer.
Let s discuss in the weekend edition of the Titans mailbag…

Question: Hey Jim, always look forward to reading the weekend mailbag. At times it is actually quite entertaining reading what is said by some; not that I am a GM or NFL coach but some of them along with your responses is a joy for me. Anyway, with our upcoming free agency and the suspected CAP reduction where do you see JR and Vrabel doing in terms of keeping our guys, i.e. who do you think they will try to lock up first? I d really hate to see CD sign anywhere else after this past year. It looked like CD and AJ could be a monster tandem for years to come and our offense is pretty much ready to go if we get to keep him. Then there is Jonnu as well, he reminds me a lot of Delanie Walker but if we can only have one

NASHVILLE – Music City is an ice rink, and we re not going to thaw out any time soon.
Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe out there.
Here in the mailbag, we ve had a flurry of J.J. Watt questions in the last few days. Or, more like a blizzard.
I ve included two in here, but I could ve done the entire mailbag with them, just so you ll know. The reality is there s a lot to be determined with Watt, and teams across the league.
As always, thanks for taking the time…

The NFL Draft Days of yesteryear were a little bit different.
There were no live television broadcasts. The picks weren t instantly evaluated. No, when Jim Richards was chosen by the Jets in 1968, the news came by way of a hallway telephone in his Virginia Tech dormitory. I came back from class, and a guy on the hall telephone said, Hey Jim, you ve got a call here. Some guy named Ewbanks. I said, Oh, let me take that call, Richards laughed. When I picked up the phone to talk to Weeb, he said, Hey Jim, we ve drafted you and want you to come play with us. We talked about the bonus and arrangements to get me up there to New York. It was a complete surprise, a pleasant surprise.
