Weekend Mailbag: Jim Wyatt Answers Questions From Titans Fans

I know, I know. It s not as exciting without the Titans in it. Still, the games should be fun, and we re now closing in on Super Bowl Sunday. But you came here to talk Titans, so here we go… Here s the link to ask questions: CLICK HERE Dean Barber from Melbourne, Australia Question: Hey Jim, long time reader, first time writer. Despite having a great (regular) season, I can t help but feel like we shot ourselves in the foot in the way we played offensively against the Ravens. Running into an 8-man box 20+ times a game for 2 yards per carry is never going to win you games. My first question is: Do you feel this is more a Arthur Smith or Mike Vrabel influence? My second question is Why? . We have a QB who accumulated 40 total touchdowns and only 7 interceptions. How much of this success is attributed to DH22 can be debated, granted. But we ve played 4 playoff games with RT17, and they ve effectively taken the ball out of his hands in all of them, except when the game was slippi

Tuesday Mailbag: Jim Wyatt Answers Questions From Titans Fans

Not sure about everyone else, but I enjoyed watching games over the weekend. The Bills provided a reminder of what the Titans should have done to the Ravens, while also proving they would have been a tough out in Buffalo had the Titans taken care of business the week before. The Chiefs held on, and the Packers and Buccaneers proved to be elite in the NFC. It should be an interesting weekend coming up. The rest of what we saw in Green Bay from the Titans, not so much. Things snowballed – pun intended – in the team s ugly loss to the Packers, and it kept the Titans from securing the AFC South title. But not all is lost, because it s a new week, and there s a big opportunity on the horizon – win on Sunday against the Texans in Houston, and the Titans will be division champs. Yes, there s plenty to talk. Let s get to it in the last Titans mailbag of 2020 …. Here s the link to ask questions: CLICK HERE Eli Decko from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Question: After watching the Titans defense lose another game for the Titans and a shot to lock up the division, do you think Vrabel goes with this failed approach of no coordinator next year? I know you re not into looking to next season during a season but this is a dire situation. No pass rush, no bodies in gaps, horrible tackling. This was atrocious. Green Bay had the same conditions to play in and just pounded us in every aspect

Midnight Train to Georgia : A Pop Classic Inspired by Farrah Fawcett

Midnight Train to Georgia is very much a product of the South. Former Ole Miss quarterback Jim Weatherly wrote it after Texan Farrah Fawcett mentioned something to him about a midnight plane to Houston, and it became a hit for Atlanta-based family band Gladys Knight & The Pips. After his college football days ended, Weatherly worked in Los Angeles as a songwriter. He played flag football in his spare time with other creative types with athletic backgrounds. One notable teammate was Lee Majors, a former college football player and the star of The Six Million Dollar Man. As the story goes, when Weatherly called Majors home one day, Major s future wife, Fawcett, answered the phone. During her brief conversation with Weatherly about Majors whereabouts, Fawcett mentioned taking a midnight plane to Houston to visit her family.
