Police sent youths away from the building POLICE say they discovered youths gathering inside a former pub building. Officers sent youths away after they had been seen inside The Mason Arms building in Atherton, last Thursday (April 15). Stolen car seized by police on Naylor Avenue, Golborne

On Friday morning police were informed that a vehicle was acting suspiciously and had been parked on Naylor Avenue, Golborne. When officers attended and checked the car out, it was displaying false plates and enquiries uncovered it had been stolen from Wigan a few weeks ago. GMP Leigh, Atherton & Hindley said: The car was recovered for forensic examination and we have several other leads we will be following up and knocking on some doors. Police warning after car doors tried at Garton Drive, Lowton

Police have issued a warning POLICE have issued a warning after car doors and a house door were tried in Lowton. Officers were made aware of a man trying car doors off Garton Drive and surrounding areas in the early hours of Thursday. The man was seen on several cameras trying various car doors and on at least one occasion trying the front door handle of an address. POLICE seized an abandoned car which had a quantity of cannabis inside Officers became aware of the vehicle due to its manner of driving and it was found abandoned a short time later.
