A Jamestown woman who the U.S. Attorney’s Office said allowed a drug dealer to use her home for a drug trafficking operation has pleaded guilty to maintaining a drug-involved premises.
Chelsey Hunt, 29, entered the plea before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $500,000.
Between January and December 2018, Hunt rented the second floor of a residence on Linden Avenue in Jamestown. While living there with her children, Hunt in violation of the terms of her lease allowed co-defendant Douglas Beardsley to live in the attic. Beardsley conducted his methamphetamine and heroin trafficking operation from the attic.

Law360 (April 20, 2021, 9:15 PM EDT) A New York federal magistrate judge recommended Tuesday that the court enforce an arbitration award requiring a packaging company to rehire a worker accused of abusing medical leave, finding the arbitrator didn t abuse his discretion in concluding that just cause should have applied to the firing.
U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder Jr. said in his report and recommendations that the arbitrator wrestled with the language of the [collective bargaining agreement] in reaching his conclusion that Cascades Containerboard Packaging acted too harshly when it fired Joseph Nemerowicz after an investigation into his use of leave under the Family and Medical Leave.

A 30-year-old Jamestown man accused of sex trafficking was charged by criminal complaint, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
Anthony Burris was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and enticing travel to engage in sexual activity.
“This defendant is a violent predator who preyed upon the vulnerabilities of these victims, leaving them powerless to fight back” stated U.S. Attorney Kennedy. “Our Office, together with our law enforcement partners at the federal, state, and local levels, will continue aggressively to pursue any individual who engages in sex trafficking, or any kind of human trafficking. Those who attempt to take away the freedom of victims through sex trafficking should expect that this Office will use every resource available in order to ensure that they, by way of criminal prosecution, will also lose their liberty.”
