Elattuvalapil Sreedharan, also known as the “Metro Man”, is an Indian engineer who was instrumental in building the Konkan Railway and the Delhi Metro ,and who laid down the foundation of modern infrastructure engineering in India.
Metro Man Sreedharan Loses Election but Keeps Promise
Metro-man keeps his promise and writes a cheque of Rs.81,525 to resolve the electricity woes of the people and gives the power supply to new families despite his recent loss in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2021.

E Sreedharan, a BJP candidate is also popularly known as Metro-man in Kerala. He has recently lost in the Kerala Assembly Elections 2021 but despite his loss in the recent election he has kept his poll promise. Although, he lost in the Palakkad constituency he has signed a cheque of Rs. 81,525 to help the people of Maduraveeran colony the get back the power connections. The 88-year-old candidate had promised that even if he loses he would help the people and keep his poll promise.
Counting of votes began at 8 a.m. on Sunday in Kerala and in the initial rounds Metroman E.Sreedharan of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was leading in the Palakkad Assembly constituency with over 2,000 votes. Sreedharan was able to bag a sizeable number of postal votes and was able to maintain a lead when the EVMs were opened. Reports coming from Palakkad indicate that Sreedharan was able to garner votes from two wards where Congress won in the December local body polls. Sreedharan on expected grounds got more votes than two of the other candidates from the traditional rivals. Incidentally, the exit polls had predicted a very close fight between the Congress candidate Shafi Parambil and Sreedharan and the Left s candidate placed at third position.
