Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 22 (ANI): E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has said its kirana partners reported about 30 per cent increase in average monthly delivery incomes last year.
The incomes in the South grew the most, followed by East, West and North. Among the top cities, kirana partners from Hyderabad saw the highest growth followed by their counterparts in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune.
More than 50,000 kirana stores across the country are currently part of Flipkart s delivery programme. These stores form part of an extended delivery mechanism for Flipkart to help deliver packages at customers doorstep, especially in tier two and tier three cities.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], March 2 (ANI): E-commerce marketplace Flipkart has expanded its grocery services to more than 50 cities in the country, providing users of seven metro cities and 40-plus neighbouring cities access to high-quality grocery products, quick deliveries and seamless shopping experience.
A recent Redseer Consulting report shows that more than 50 per cent (close to 570 billion dollars or about Rs 42 lakh crore) grocery retail space in India is addressable by e-grocery platforms. Of this, value-first households account for a significant 61 per cent portion with metro and tier-one markets covering more than 40 per cent of this opportunity.

Compared to standard indemnity health insurance policies, Group SafeGuard offers consumers to avail a payout for each day of hospitalisation. Flipkart said the fixed daily amount enables consumers to pay for incidental medical or emergency expenses.
The insurance is affordably priced, paperless and flexible covering both accidental hospitalisations or planned surgeries and treatment.
The direct average out-of-pocket expenditure for hospitalisation ranges between Rs 4,452 to 31,845 for a person while the average loss of income due to hospitalisation is estimated to be Rs 8,164 per day.
The Hospicash benefit offered by ICICI Lombard provides consumers an extra allowance to cover any out of pocket expenses be it emergency medical expenses, travel, post-discharge costs or compensation for loss of income during hospitalisation.
