A survey of more than 200 CEOs maintains that poor digital marketing practices and meaningless metrics are "putting the board to sleep." According to the study, 62 percent of the CEOs believe that too much of marketing budgets is wasted on activities that don t deliver meaningful results, while nearly as many 60 percent think that the marketing potential of social media has been exaggerated.

A recent study of eBay ads found that digital brand search ad effectiveness is overestimated up to 4,100 percent. A similar analysis of Facebook ads yielded a number of 4,000 percent.

Single enforcement body - REC reaction
The government has officially announced that it will be creating a single enforcement body to protect the rights of workers and clamp down on bad practice in the labour market.
This will see the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority, the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate and HMRC’s National Minimum Wage Enforcement combined into a single body – more detail can be found here.
Responding to the announcement, Kate Shoesmith, Deputy CEO of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), said:
“It s good to hear that the government is starting to move forward with its plan to create a single labour market enforcement body – something we have long asked for.
