Many of those in line at the Estero Park and Recreation Center for the first round brought a chair because they knew they’d have a long wait. Vaccinations were scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., but due to the long line, they began at noon. The county also initially said it would only vaccinate 300 people at the site, but officials later said they would vaccinate 600, the number of people in line. The county is planning to vaccinate 400 at the other sites this week.

Free walk-up COVID-19 testing available in December throughout Lee County LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Free walk-up coronavirus testing will be available throughout Lee County during the month of December. The Florida Department of Health in Lee County along with the Lee County Government will provide the testing. Local health officials said staff will have 300 tests available at each site for people 4 years or older. FDOH in Lee County will also provide flu and Hepatitis A vaccines for anyone 6 months or older who is not sick. Testing is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at most sites, weather permitting, according to FDOH. Children under the age of 4 will be referred for testing to DOH-lee.
