Rugged coastal cliff views from one of the viewing platform sites.
The beautiful views and natural delights of the Tura Headland walking track will soon be open to more people following upcoming works to improve accessibility and enjoyment.
Partly funded through the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund, the 900-metre walking track will undergo works to improve the surface and create three new viewing platforms.
Council’s Project Manager, Glenn Merrick said the works will make it easier for people with limited mobility and specific needs to enjoy some of the best views along the shire’s coast.
“Erosion caused by weather, wear and tear has resulted in this popular walking track becoming degraded over the years,” Mr Merrick said.
University of Amsterdam
The City of Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) have produced a development plan for the area between the Amstel and the Hoogstraat. This includes the University Quarter (UQ), which will undergo a transformation in the coming years. In the area where it first came into being, the UvA will be renovating listed buildings and making them more sustainable, and – together with the municipality – will be redesigning the public space to include more greenery. Located on the edge of the busy De Wallen district, the University Quarter will become an attractive and green area with its own identity. It therefore ties in well with the ambitions of Aanpak Binnenstad, the programme for the renovation of the inner city. The UQ will become the beating heart of the UvA and an attractive place to live, work, visit and study.
