Date Time Help shape an accessible Peninsula Mornington Peninsula Shire invites community minded people with lived experience of disability to join our Disability Advisory Committee (DAC). Committee members are asked to give feedback on upcoming plans and projects the Shire is working on to make sure they are inclusive of people with disabilities. Committee membership is made up of a majority of people with a disability, up to two carers or close family members of someone with a disability and up to two people from a community group or organisation with a demonstrated interest in supporting people with a disability.

For families with children and adults with special needs, waiting at the airport terminal presents a multitude of challenges. That is why the Kansas City Aviation Department has teamed up with Variety KC to build what they claim to be the first-of-its-kind inclusive play area in an airport terminal. The play area will be part of the new terminal currently under construction at Kansas City International Airport. The project was announced late last month during a news conference at one of the existing KCI terminals.

(WCSC) - Charleston County Parks is launching an Accessibility Advisory Committee to promote inclusion across all county parks. Charleston County Parks ADA Coordinator and Director of Recreation Steve Hutton says they are looking for new people in the community to join this group and bring more representation. Hutton says Charleston County Parks hired a group in 2019 to evaluate their overall accessibility for people with disabilities. He says some of the recommendations from the audit were small, like updating garbage cans and signs to make sure they are placed close enough to the accessible routes and trails at parks.
