Read / Add Comments Authorities said they have arrested a 35-year-old New Brunswick woman who shot and killed a 46-year-old, whom authorities said was a bystander and not the intended target. Rhadisha Maurrasse shot Delfino Aparicio-Lopez as he was driving in his vehicle on Handy Street around 4:35 p.m. on Monday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo said. Aparicio-Lopez was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, they said.  Maurrasse was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, they said.

Rhadisha Maurrasse is charged with murder and two weapons offenses after shooting a 46-year-old city man in the neck on Handy Street around 4:30 p.m Monday, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and an affidavit of probable cause. She was identified by two people who witnessed the shooting, the affidavit said. Delfino Aparicio-Lopez was not the intended target of the shooting, officials said. The target was a passenger in the vehicle who “had prior issues with (Maurrasse),” the partially redacted affidavit said. It didn’t elaborate further.

Person fatally shot while driving in N.J. city, authorities say Updated 9:55 PM; One person was fatally shot Monday afternoon while driving in New Brunswick, officials said. Police found the victim, identified only as male, wounded around 4:30 p.m. near Handy Street and Paul Robeson Boulevard, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The shooting victim died at a local hospital. “The investigation is active and continuing,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. Video from local news website New Brunswick Today showed three vehicles - two cars and an SUV - that appeared to be involved in a crash and cordoned off at the intersection. New Brunswick police appeared to be taking pictures of another vehicle near the crash scene.
