Authorities said they have arrested a 35-year-old New Brunswick woman who shot and killed a 46-year-old, whom authorities said was a bystander and not the intended target.
Rhadisha Maurrasse shot Delfino Aparicio-Lopez as he was driving in his vehicle on Handy Street around 4:35 p.m. on Monday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and New Brunswick Police Director Anthony A. Caputo said.
Aparicio-Lopez was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, they said.
Maurrasse was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, they said.

A 35-year-old woman shot and killed a man as he was driving his vehicle along a street in New Brunswick on Monday afternoon, officials said.
Rhadisha Maurrasse is charged with murder and two weapons offenses after shooting a 46-year-old city man in the neck on Handy Street around 4:30 p.m Monday, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and an affidavit of probable cause. She was identified by two people who witnessed the shooting, the affidavit said.
Delfino Aparicio-Lopez was not the intended target of the shooting, officials said. The target was a passenger in the vehicle who “had prior issues with (Maurrasse),” the partially redacted affidavit said. It didn’t elaborate further.

Person fatally shot while driving in N.J. city, authorities say

One person was fatally shot Monday afternoon while driving in New Brunswick, officials said.
Police found the victim, identified only as male, wounded around 4:30 p.m. near Handy Street and Paul Robeson Boulevard, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. The shooting victim died at a local hospital.
“The investigation is active and continuing,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
Video from local news website New Brunswick Today showed three vehicles - two cars and an SUV - that appeared to be involved in a crash and cordoned off at the intersection. New Brunswick police appeared to be taking pictures of another vehicle near the crash scene.
